SUSTAINABLE FASHION leaders

Eileen Fisher: the GOAT of sustainable fashion. Through her unwavering commitment to recycling garments, utilizing sustainable materials, and advocating against unjust labor practices, Fisher has established a groundbreaking eco-conscious model that has significantly transformed and benefitted the fashion sector. As a testament to her remarkable efforts, Fisher was honored with the esteemed Positive Change Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2019.

In 2009, Fisher’s iconic brand established a sustainability initiative known as “Green Eileen.” Her company began accepting previously worn Eileen Fisher clothing; these garments were cleaned and repaired by the brand, then sold at a discounted price. The objective of this program was to reduce textile waste, something that most brands are only recently becoming concerned about. This campaign helped generate over $3 million in revenue for Fisher’s brand.

Emma Watson has become a trailblazer for sustainable practices and ethical initiatives in the fashion industry. These practices can be traced back to 2009 when Watson began working with People Tree, the first international fashion brand certified by the World Fair Trade Association. More recently, Watson started an instagram account called “The Press Tour” to keep her fans educated on the environmentally friendly looks, many of which were custom made by Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Givenchy.
